Empathy ...
the medicine of plants ally's
Our GrandMothers say that light has many colors,
and so does the medicine of plants.
Each leaf carries a tone.
Each flower sings a note.
The work of the healer is not simply to gather them
but to listen until the harmony appears.
When the tones come into balance,
the medicine becomes whole.
And in that moment,
the scent of the Earth becomes
a form of light.
In this moment during crisis, among the nations the GrandMothers are leaning forward to ask this simple question:
Do you feel one another yet?
A people may share borders, language, and flags, but that alone won’t make them a community. What binds a nation in truth is empathy … the ability to feel the breath of another life as if it were your own.
A national sense of empathy awakens when a culture remembers that the suffering of one family echoes through the entire village. Our GrandMothers have always known this. Around the long fire of memory they taught that a healthy people care for the children, listen to the elders, and protect the land that feeds them. When one part of the circle is wounded, the whole circle must respond.
Please think of the children bombed in the Iranian school the first set to go off in trump’s war on the Persian people. Goddess memory asks us to witness the genocide in Gaza and now the spread of that atrocity among their neighboring nations. Put your heart and eyes on the violence on our city streets in the molesting of a culture invited to blend here in the United States of America.
Empathy is the nervous system of a civilization. It is the quiet understanding that laws, policies, and decisions are not abstractions; they are the living currents that flow through real human lives. When a nation listens with its heart, it begins to shape a world where dignity matters more than dominance and care matters more than conquest. Our GrandMothers remind us that empathy is not softness. It is maturity. It is the moment when a people grow wise enough to understand that survival itself depends on cooperation, compassion, and the honoring of life.
When a nation remembers empathy, it becomes something more than a country.
It becomes a village again.
Our GrandMothers, standing at the threshold of this new age, whisper the same ancient teaching they have always carried:
What happens to one of us… happens to all of us.
